Hello,
I'm Courtney.
Taught by my Granny as a child, I've played and loved American Mah Jongg for over 20 years. To me, Mah Jongg is more than a game. It's a reason to gather, a way to connect and a tradition worth sharing. The Lucky Dot was created in this same spirit - inspired by tradition and rooted in love.
I enjoy walking my dog, yoga and a good cup of tea. I like to draw, color and write. I appreciate quiet, cozy mornings. I couldn't live without my weekly chiropractic adjustments. I'm obsessed with Mac Miller and Hilary Duff and love music of all genres.

But why
"The Lucky Dot?"
Dots are one of three Mah Jongg suites. Dot is also the name of my Granny, the very woman who taught me Mah Jongg over 20 years ago. The Lucky Dot is a name chosen with intention, honoring the amazing woman who brought this game into my life so that I may now bring it to you! Here at The Lucky Dot Mah Jongg Co. we are dedicated to preserving this heritage while welcoming newcomers with expert guidance and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a curious beginner, we provide the space and the expertise to make every session memorable.
What the heck is
American Mah Jongg?
Mah Jongg is a tile game that originated in China. There are many variations around the world but here at The Lucky Dot, we play American Mah Jongg. In 1937, a group of Jewish Mah Jongg players came together to establish a uniform set of rules.This organization is known as The National Mah Jongg League (NMJL). Each year the League introduces a new card outlining the rules and the combinations of winning hands for that year.
American Mah Jongg is a social and strategic tile game played with four players. The objective is to complete a winning hand and “Mah Jongg” before the other players. There’s a reason this game is spreading like wildfire - it’s fun, challenging and community focused.
