Ready to learn American Mah Jongg? Join The Lucky Dot Mah Jongg Co. at The Simple Brew/Stir Social Club in Harrah, OK, for a fun, welcoming beginner class.
This lesson is designed for brand-new players - no previous experience is needed. To keep instruction personal and hands-on, there are only four spots available for the lesson.
During Mah Jongg 101, we’ll walk through the foundations of American Mah Jongg, including:
The tiles, suits, and basic terminology
How to read and use the National Mah Jongg League card
How to set up the table and begin a game
The Charleston and passing process
How to build a hand and make decisions during play
The basic rules and flow of the game
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice what you’re learning in a supportive, relaxed environment. The goal is not to memorize everything in one evening—it’s to leave with a strong foundation, a better understanding of the game, and the confidence to keep practicing.
All Mah Jongg supplies will be provided. Guests are encouraged to arrive a little early to order a drink or something to enjoy during class.
